Yellow 2006 (TJ) Rubicon
33's on AEV Pintler Wheels
2 inch budjet boost lift
1 inch motor mount lift
1 inch body lift
Clayton full skid plate package (engine and t-case)
Warn xd8000i Winch
Bestop Highrock Bumpers front and Rear
Custom fabricated rear tire rack and RotoPax storage system
Custom fabricated rock rails made from .250 1.5 inch DOM
Tom Woods front drive shaft
Modified (boxed in) factory lower control arms

I just took the trip of a lifetime this summer (2012).  I went to the Rubicon Trail and spent two days on that trail, then went to Moab and spent 10 days running the trails there.  Next, I left Utah and ran some trails near the old mining towns (Black Bear Pass, Emogene Pass, etc.).  And, after 4 weeks of wheeling and driving crosscountry, I had to come back home.  :-(

Pictures of the trip can be found here:  http://www.davidaherron.com/rubicontrailandmoab/ (http://www.davidaherron.com/rubicontrailandmoab/)

Greetings and salutations.  The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

But I digest.  Names Dan, though on the Facebooks you will see me as Finn MacCumhaill. I'm on most of the JK forums, JKOwners, JKFreaks, JK-Forum as finnd1.  As with Mr Will, I was directed here by Brad Boyd after I started a thread on DMVJeepers about cleaning up the fire road on the reddish knob side to get to Flagpole.  My Step father has told me it is no longer passable to normal sedans and that keeps his group from being able to get up there and enjoy the views and toss radio waves around th world.

I’m Jim Link and I recently joined the VA4WDA because my family and I recently moved from the great offroading state of Arizona to Fredericksburg, Virginia.  In Arizona I was a “special project” committee member and had previously held the position of Vice President of the local club, the Cochise County Range Riders.  I was also a member of AZ State 4WD Associations and clubs, served on local land use boards, as well as worked closely with the local Coronado National Forest Rangers Office to help insure continued use of open land and trails here in Arizona.  My wife, Colleen and I were very active and generally went offroading at least twice a month.  Last year we did 18 trails plus eight additional events such as trail clean ups, trail repairs, toys for tots, BBQ’s etc..  Of those 18 trails we led 8 of those runs.  Most of the time I drive, but Colleen does put down the camera and drive too...

We currently wheel my daily driven 2011, Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with a 4 inch frankenlift which includes; Teraflex upper and lower control arms, Synergy track bars, drag link, and tie rod, 35” Cooper STT Pro tires, 4.88 gears, Eaton front E-locker and rebuilt (w/ modified disc pack) trac-lok rear limited slip diffs, JCR dagger front bumper, AEV rear bumper, 12,000 lbs winch, sliders, Artec cross member, and front axle truss and armor kit, a diablo sport to flash the speedometer and to monitor temps.  I am sure there are a few other mods that are slipping my mind…

Rather than attach photos yet, here is a url/link to a photo album that shows our Jeep and some of the trails we've done:

Hey all, just bought my first jeep last week. 2013 Wrangler JKU. I've seen y'all on Saturday mornings since I live right by there and hope to stop by sometime. I'll be needing a lot of help/advice on what to do to my jeep. Most likely won't take it on too many trails, but plan on taking it to OBX a lot this summer to surf and surf fish. Anyone know who I can take my jeep to to get an undercoating put on to protect it? Thanks!

Hello there!

My name is Ted Dinwiddie. I am the the Lead Instructor in Virginia for Overland Experts (OEX). We are an off-road driving school with locations on Connecticut, Virginia, and North Carolina. Our Virginia location is outside Orange and has been there for about 7 years. We serve a variety of clients from military to commercial and civilian. I have just activated a personal membership and hope soon to have OEX on board as a business member.

My personal vehicle is a 1995 Toyota FZJ 80 Land Cruiser. I am interested in being A LOT more active in the off-road community in Virgina. I grew up in Charlottesville and have been exploring the local mountains for a long time. I attended the first two UFWDA Wheel-Ins at Oak Ridge and was the only Land Cruiser both times. My truck has been built a bit more since then and has a lot more miles (307K). I'm looking forward to getting out with you guys.
