Parts, Wheels, Tires / Parting out '96 XJ
« Last post by slickwilly on August 04, 2013, 01:42:22 pm »
I'm parting out a '96 XJ Sport... The interior is gone as well as the rear leaf springs. Good parts remaining include: front fenders, all 4 doors with glass and power everything, hood and rear liftgate with glass... $30.00 each... Jasper auto tranny, which I was told had less than 10,000 miles on it, and the transfer case all in working order... Make a reasonable offer... If there is something else you are looking for ask, it might still be here... Post up or call 757-449-0158...

Bob Temple here from SC.  Was a member here years ago and lost my way with computer crashes.  Then my best Jeepin Buddy passed away and I seem to have taken a couple years off.
Time to get back at it, ain't getting no younger!

Hi all,

Along with being in this club, I am also a member of the Jeepster Commando Club of America (JCCA).

We have an annual event every year. It is very much like the event in Arrington, VA in September. I attended that event last year.I would be going this year, but I will be in Afghanistan.  >:(

BUT, I do want to start planning for the JCCA event next year.

Besides Arrington, or Gore (Big Dogs) where would be a good place in Virginia to host a three day event that has trails, camping, a pavilion, access to hotels and would let us "invade" with about 20 Jeepsters for the weekend?

We usually have this in TN. However, I would like to have it closer to home and attempt to get more East coast participation.

Any ideas?

Thanks very much!

Jason

Trip Reports / Members Only Run May 17-19

Talk about an Epic Event.  I first want to give a Big Thank You to Phil Wolf, and MPJAI for hosting and puttting on this event.  Secondly I want to thank Poor Boyz for the excellent food they fed us on Saturday night.  Also a huge thatnk you to John Hunt and Big Dogs.

Wow.. where to start.   I ran some really wild and wicked trails.. and definately had some white knuckle and brown short times.  I cant wait till next yr so I can wheel with some of the ppl I met.  I also seen some Newbies have their first experience on the trails.. and talk about some awesome campfire talk.

Are these charity events going to be open to NOn memebers.. also will there be a way to become a member in the future?

Thanks
Pat
The plans are that charity events (runs) will be open to non-members. The number of runs and dates will be determined soon, we are just waiting to see that final written opinion from Zoning.
You can and will be able to become a member via the website at any time. The membership types will also be finalized at the same time.
In the interim you can donate to the club to help off-set the cost of legal fees.

General Discussion / RCPFA

Open letter to all interested parties about RCPFA's status as it relates to Crozet:
The RCPFA BOD has been working with the law firm of Williams Mullen to clarify and define how RCPFA can use the property at Crozet. It is clear that we can use it, but it is not exactly clear how often or what to call that use, etc. It may seem like we have not been very communicative in the last few weeks about this issue, but truth be told the BOD are just reacting to new information as it is available. In short we will not have any events at Crozet for a few weeks, but we anticipate setting a summer date for the EOD wounded warrior run and then 2-3 other charity runs later in the year. Wheeling at the Crozet property will change in its nature, and will probably only be available to non members for a small number of charity events per year. The club will continue to schedule trail cleanups and other members only dates once an understanding is reached with the county.

The Williams Mullen Law Firm is the preeminent zoning firm in the area and their first meeting with the zoning board this week went well. We anticipate getting a written opinion from the zoning board in the next 1-2 weeks (best guess) and we will fill everyone in on the news as we get it.

Please take a moment to help RCPFA with its legal costs, donate at http://rcpfa.com/misc/donate.htm, I know times are tight, but the club is looking at a few thousand in legal costs to resolve this all and will need members support to do this.

 Sincerely,

 Hayden
President RCPFA
