Upcoming Trail Runs / Crozet Cheap Truck Challenge Round 2! March 23-24, 2013
« Last post by onzrocks on December 28, 2012, 03:18:31 pm »
Spring Crozet Cheap Truck Challenge (CCTC) and OPEN run

Both existing members and prospective members/nonmembers are eligible to attend

Saturday 03/23 & Sunday 03/24

Think you and your buddies have got the scrounging skills to build a crawler for $1,200? Here's your chance to do just that and pit your creation against your fellow cheapskates, tightwads, and penny pinchers!

Find it!

Pick your favorite beater and modify it as little or as much as you want all within the budget cap of $1,200 greenbacks. Massive sheetmetal cutting, spring overs, welded spiders and dry rotted 33's are the weapons of choice here. What you end up with probably won't be pretty or particularly capable, but that's all part of the fun.

Build It!

Spent the majority of your crawling fund already? The CCTC is the perfect opportunity to team up with your fellow club or forum members and split costs. This is a great way to spend some quality time with your buddies buying and building a beater in the pursuit of cheap truck glory on March 23rd!

Beat it!

Start time for the CCTC is 9:00 AM, Teams should arrive No Later than 8:00 AM to get their rigs setup and ready.  Open wheeling will begin after the CCTC event.

Rusty's 808  6.5 coils these are older coils with some use.  They are for an xj.  75

Re fixed lower single flex fixed lower control arms... 50

4 36" swamper sx's with sidewall rips.  they are fixeable, but since I sold my 36's on my rig and moved up in tire size I figured I would sell these.  100 for the set of 4

78 j10 truck
360 amc.... rebuilt 30k ago ( former owner claims)
t18
d20
d44 front and rear.

The good the truck runs and needs a tune up.  would make an excellent trail rig or donor rig for a YJ/CJ/TJ build.

The bad body is rusty as hell.. gas tank is held in place by rope :-[  and you have to start the jee by sticking the fuel line in a can of gas.. because of this I cannot tell you how it drives or stops.  I will say trans shifts like it is suppose to, and clutch feels tight.

I can text or email pics As I am not ure how to post them on here.
