SUMMARY:Earth Day Trail Clean Up 2026
DESCRIPTION:Site Clean Up: Bald Mountain Jeep Trail FS Road 162\, Coal Rd\, Glenwood-Pedlar District\, George Washington National Forest\nDinner provided Saturday night by VA4WDA.\nWe are proud to announce this year’s event with the NFS to give back to our public lands. We will be providing the gloves\, water\, litter pick up tools\, and trash bags. You may bring loppers\, manual trimmers and hand tools. Please also bring your bug spray and your lunch.\nCamping is at no charge if you are staying in our designated area\, William Branch Day Use Area of Sherando Lake Campground. Hard sided campers and RVs are not permitted in this area. You can reserve a site in the main campground if you have a tag camper or RV. (Contact Sandy if you have questions about this.) Hot showers are available. Gate closes at 10pm. Let them know at the gate that you’re with VA4WDA\, and they will give you a pass and directions to our camping area. Our area is secured from Friday morning until Sunday morning. If you plan to trail ride on Sunday\, you must pack up your camp site before taking off for the trails. Again\, we need a head count so be sure to let us know if you plan to join us. DESCRIPTION:Registration through our website will open March 7\, 2026 at 12:00 noon. All 200 spots will be available when registration opens. One registration per trail vehicle at $200 per ticket. Registrant MUST be a VA4WDA member to attend.\nYour $200 registration will cover camping for 2 nights\, 2 days of wheeling (Saturday and Sunday)\, land use fees\, porta potties\, a trash dumpster\, event insurance and more.\nThis event will ONLY be wheeling! NO meal\, tee shirts\, or raffle! We will have a special event decal to put on your rig with additional decals for purchase.\n\nWe will be welcoming registered guests Friday May 1\, 2026. Check in will be from 2-7pm. Camping will be at the race track.\n\nWe will be stage Saturday at 7am to check in late arrivals\, hold the drivers meeting\, and be on the trails at 8am. Trail riding will conclude on Saturday at 5 pm. Sunday staging at 7 am\, drivers meeting\, and be on the trails at 8 am. Trail riding will conclude on Sunday at 4 pm so everyone can pack up and head home.\n\nThe only times for check in at this event will be Friday from 2 pm to 7 pm\, Saturday from 7 am to 8 am\, and Sunday 7 am to 8 am. If you do not make those check in times\, you will need to stay at camp that day.\n\nA 50/50 raffle will be held during the entire event at check-in benefiting the Nelson County Pantry.
